Pan Tadeus references the artist’s own experience as an immigrant, caught between places (emotionally, creatively, and artistically) represented here as remembrances of a poem memorized while growing up in Poland. Words of “Pan Tadeusz” by Adam Mickiewicz were written with clear glue on acrylic sheets casting shadows of the fragmented verses and were set in a passage the artist used to go through every day to her home in San Francisco.
